Anti-wrinkle injections, also known as botulinum toxin injections, are a popular cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles, such as those around the eyes, forehead, and mouth.
The injection contains a purified form of botulinum toxin, which blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles, preventing the muscle from contracting and forming wrinkles. The effects of the injection typically last for 3-6 months, after which the treatment can be repeated if desired.
Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly used for the treatment of crow's feet, frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and other facial lines and wrinkles. They are generally safe and well-tolerated when administered by a qualified healthcare provider, but side effects can include bruising, swelling, and temporary muscle weakness.
There are many brands of botulinum toxin on the market and it is down to clients personal choice. In the clinic I use both Bocouture and Botox depending on my clients preference.
I am a qualified and registered pharmacy technician and have qualified in anatomy and physiology level 4 to ensure my competence in this area prior to taking on additional training in wrinkle relaxing injections.
